A master-planned community on Henderson's eastern edge, built around a 320-acre lake, with two Jack Nicklaus golf courses and some villages behind their own gates.
Lake Las Vegas is on the far east side of Henderson, about 17 miles east of the Strip. The master plan covers roughly 3,600 acres and wraps around a 320-acre man-made lake with about 10 miles of shoreline, set among red rock cliffs and desert canyons. Out on the water there's kayaking, paddleboarding, rowing and electric boat cruises. Lake Mead National Recreation Area starts just to the east, and the River Mountains Loop Trail has trailhead parking at the park entrance, at the east end of Lake Mead Parkway.
The Village at Lake Las Vegas, which opened as MonteLago Village, was built in an Italian village style. You'll find cobblestone walkways, shops and restaurants along the lake, and a bridge in the style of Florence's Ponte Vecchio.
The first homes went up on SouthShore in the mid-1990s, and its courtyard villas and Venetian-style waterfront homes still sit around a private Nicklaus course. The newer neighborhoods lean contemporary. The main entrance leads to the resort hotels, The Village and a public golf course, while some villages sit behind their own gates.
The Lake Las Vegas Sports Club, a membership club for residents, fills the former Falls golf clubhouse with a fitness center, tennis and pickleball courts, a pool and spa, and a driving range.
